Canners Win High School Indoor Soccer Tournament Championship
The Lady Canners Girl’s Soccer team won the championship match by defeating Boiling Springs 2-1 in the 9th Annual Messiah College’s Girl’s High School Indoor Soccer Tournament (Friday Night Event Bracket) on February 19, 2010. |

Canners Soccer Heading to State Playoffs |

Biglerville Varsity Boys Soccer won District Gold in the Class A final vs Camp Hill at HersheyPark Stadium. The Canners will begin their state playoff journey on Tuesday at HersheyPark stadium vs Benton with kickoff at 5:30pm.

Cross County Finishes Its Regular Season |

On Tuesday, October 20th, many of the Biglerville Cross Country runners finished their last meet of the season. Over the past month, the boys and girls teams have competed at Delone, Northeastern, Dover, and the final league meet. Times continued to improve at the various meets as the team was led by Danielle Prior, Jessica Allen, and Kelsey Crum for the girls and Jon Troutman, Ryan Beatty, Josh Hulse, Dylan Rupprecht, and Curtis Flickinger for the boys. |

Biglerville Resident Gives Police Academy Graduation Speech at Mansfield University |

The 24th Mansfield University Municipal Police Officers’ Training Academy class graduated on October 8, 2009 in a ceremony held at North Manser Dining Hall at the University. The Act 120 Academy Training Program is a required 750-hour course to obtain certification to be a municipal police officer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The graduates began the 4 ½ month Academy Training Program on May 26, 2009. The required curriculum included training in Laws and Procedures, Vehicle Code and Collision Investigation, Criminal Investigation, Crisis Management, Mechanics of Arrest, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Physical Training, First Aid and CPR, Defensive Tactics, and Firearms. |

October 7th Fundraiser Set for the Family of Ricky Pena |

The Biglerville High School Soccer Team will be conducting a Community Fundraiser on Wednesday, October 7 at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House of Gettysburg in an effort to raise money for the family of Ricky Pena.
Ricky is currently a student of Biglerville High School and an active member of the Biglerville Soccer Team who has fallen ill. Ricky is currently under the care of The Hershey Medical Center where he will continue to undergo treatment and further testing to diagnose and treat his illness.

Runners Continue to Improve Times, Medaling and Qualifying for Districts |

On Saturday, September 19th, Canner Cross Country ran in the Big Spring Invitational. For the boys, 24 teams competed with a total of 165 boys running. There were 19 girls teams with 128 runners. Jessica Allen and Kelsey Crum lead the girls team and earned medals for placing in the top twenty for double A schools. Allen earned a medal for 15th place and Crum for 17th place. |

Senior Ryan Beatty and Freshman Kelsey Crum both qualified for districts at their meet at Bermudian on September 15th. The Canner boys and girls teams ran against several other schools, and many runners had time improvements from the previous week. |

Biglerville boys and girls cross country ran against Littlestown, Bermudian Springs, Dover, and Northeastern in a meet on 9/10 at Littlestown. Every single Biglerville runner had a time improvement compared to last week's meet. |
